Create Your YoseMono Jewelry
as a Memory of Japan
Located in Tokyo's Creative Hub [2k540 AKI-OKA ARTISAN]
What’s YoseMono?
Capture your cherished memories of Japan in a beautiful piece of fashion jewelry! This unique workshop offers you the opportunity to create your own original brooch or pendant, earrings, ring, etc. using "YoseMono", a traditional Japanese metalworking technique.
"YoseMono" is essential for making cosutume jewelry, in which metal "items" are gathered together and joined together with techniques such as brazing and soldering to create a design.
A particular feature of this technique is that shellfish powder is mixed into a special mud paste, serving as a foundation for your design. Your chosen design pieces are carefully arranged on top, creating a beautiful and intricate composition.

Masaaki March Takahashi
Costume Jewelry Artist and Architect
After graduating from the Department of Architecture at university, he went to Finland to study under the master architect Juha Leiviska. He worked there for two years as a staff member.
After returning to Japan, he started up an architectural firm and helped out at his parents' accessory workshop while working as an architect.
As he continued working, he heard that his specialty, the "yosemono" technique, was hardly being passed down to the next generation and was on the verge of extinction. Wanting to preserve the wonderfulness of the "yosemono" technique, he decided to brand his own work. He launched the [MASAAKi TAKAHASHi] brand.
Due to his designs and techniques, he has participated in pop-ups at major department stores and commercial facilities, exhibited overseas, appeared in the media, and participated in the "World Jewelry Facets 2014" organized by Swarovski. He has been active in such activities as being selected as a Swarovski partner brand. In 2012, "Yosemono" was certified as a "Tokyo Traditional Craft," and with a subsidy from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, he opened his flagship store, "MASAAKi TAKAHASHi atelier shop," in the manufacturing district of "2k540" in 2014.
He was also summoned to Bunka Fashion College, a world-class fashion school, as a part-time lecturer. He teaches metalwork, the basis of costume jewelry, and continues to produce many students.
MASAAKi TAKAHASHi's designs always begin with a story, just like when creating architectural spaces.
"Turn a story into brilliance"
This is the defining feature of MASAAKi TAKAHASHi's work.
